A quiet story of service, family, faith, and commitment — lived every day by our Vice President of Sales, James Reyes.
There are people who talk about service — and there are those who quietly live it. If you know James Reyes, you already know which kind he is.
You see it in the early mornings before Rochester wakes up, when he’s already out running. You see it in the calm way he listens, the steady way he moves through a challenge, and the way he shows up — not just for clients, but for his family, his church, and his community.
“Service isn’t a chapter in James’ life — it’s the foundation of it.”
Life Built on Commitment
James’ journey into service began long before real estate. It began alongside someone he admired — his older cousin, Jerry — who enlisted in the U.S. Army two years before him. Inspired and driven by a desire to serve, James joined too.
He went on to serve nine years, including two tours in Iraq, where he learned what commitment truly means: trust, preparation, courage, and showing up — every single day.
“The value of readiness has stuck by me — whether it’s staying physically fit or learning more about my craft.” — James Reyes

Returning Home, Carrying Strength Forward
Returning from Iraq wasn’t simple. After months of shared purpose and deep trust, civilian life felt strange at first. But brotherhood didn’t end with deployment — many of his fellow soldiers lived nearby, and they helped each other transition back.
The discipline, calm under pressure, and devotion to team he forged overseas became the foundation of his civilian life — and his career.
Service as a Daily Choice
As AFB Founder Angie Flack Brown shares:
“His day starts in the dark every day — running in the rain, snow, or heat. He doesn’t do what’s easy, he does what’s right. His commitment is not an accident — it’s a daily decision.”
From family to faith to clients, James leads through quiet consistency and devotion.

A Veteran’s Day Spent Serving, Not Posting
While many honor Veterans Day online, James honored it the way he always does — through action.
An investor client had been taken advantage of by a contractor and urgently needed their property ready for a new tenant. Instead of posting a tribute, James stepped in: coordinating trusted help, managing materials, and getting the job done fairly and quickly.
Not charity. Not obligation. Just values in motion.
“With James as our VP and sales leader, there is never a question of who is showing up. The AFB brand and reputation are in good hands.” — Jerry Brown
Calm in the Moments That Matter
Real estate can be emotional and intense. James brings battlefield clarity to living‑room decisions.
As COO Rachel McAloose says:
“He does the research nobody sees. Clients benefit from his preparation every single time.”
Family, Faith, and Community
James’ greatest pride isn’t his service record — it’s his family.
“He works so hard for us. He never misses a practice or game, he’s always serving our family, and his faith drives everything he does. I feel blessed our girls have his example to follow.” — Shelby Reyes

What Veterans Day Means Today
“Selfless service is the backbone of America. Most who serve will never be known by the masses — but their sacrifices build this country.” — James Reyes
James, thank you — for your service to this country, this community, this team, and every family you walk beside.
We honor your service not with slogans, but with truth: you’re still serving, and we are all better because of it.
