Brighton, NY 2025: A Year of Perspective

Jan 6, 2026 | According to Angie, AFB Market Insights

Brighton, NY has always been home for me.

I grew up here. I live here. And year after year, I feel deeply grateful to continue serving the community that shaped who I am. Real estate, for me, has never been just about homes—it’s about people, transitions, and showing up with care and integrity when it matters most.

The Brighton Market: Steady, Competitive, and Thoughtful

In a year filled with economic noise and uncertainty, Brighton proved once again to be a remarkably resilient place.

According to GRAR data through November 2025, median home prices increased year over year, homes continued to sell quickly with a median of about seven days on market, price per square foot rose modestly, and new listings increased—giving buyers slightly more choice, but not much more time.

What we saw on the ground was a market that rewarded preparation and patience. Buyers were more analytical. Sellers needed to be more strategic. But well-positioned homes still moved quickly, and Brighton remained a place where people felt confident putting down roots.

A Year That Asked Us to Slow Down

In June, our family experienced the loss of J.D.’s mother—a season of grief that quietly reshaped our year. It brought clarity, perspective, and a renewed sense of responsibility to the work we do.

When clients invite us into moments of transition—whether joyful or difficult—it’s never lost on us how personal those moments are.

The Team Behind the Work

One of the things I’m most proud of is the people I get to work alongside.

James reached an important personal milestone this year, purchasing and rehabbing a home in Pittsford for the Reyes family—an experience that deepened his appreciation for the process our clients navigate every day.

Rachel fulfilled a lifelong dream in April when she performed her first stand-up comedy set at a local comedy club. She was genuinely funny—and brave—and reminded us all how important it is to keep stretching beyond our comfort zones.

And J.D. did what he does best—calmly, consistently, and adeptly steering the ship. His steady leadership gave me the peace of mind and space to stay focused on our clients, our team, and the work that matters most.

I also continued my service on the GRAR Board and was challenged in my role as our area’s NAR Federal Political Coordinator—advocating for our profession and the clients we serve during a complex time.

Quiet Consistency

2025 was a year that encouraged clarity and care.

What I’m most grateful for is the ability to remain present, prepared, and steady—especially when things felt uncertain. Our focus stayed where it has always been: guiding clients thoughtfully, pricing homes responsibly, and helping people make informed decisions.

Contribution over recognition. Service over spotlight.

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

As we move toward 2026, I carry forward everything this year taught us—resilience, perspective, and the importance of thoughtful preparation. At the same time, I feel a deep sense of optimism.

Our team enters the new year focused, aligned, and energized—supported by experience, strategy, and the right tools to serve Brighton at the highest level. We are proud of the trust this community continues to place in us, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
