Realtor® Team Spotlight: Angie Flack Brown –
“I believe no one can succeed alone.” That’s the philosophy Realtor Angie Flack Brown lives by, and it’s evident in everything she does as leader of The Angie Flack Brown Team. As the founder of a top-performing real estate group at Keller Williams Greater Rochester in Brighton, Angie has built her career on collaboration, dedication, and a genuine love for helping others. Ranked #19 out of over 3,200 realtors in the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors MLS, her team’s success is no accident—it’s the result of shared goals, mutual respect, and a commitment to excellence.
Building a Team
“I wanted to start a team in 2010, as I was feeling overwhelmed and kind of lonely,” Angie explains. “Working as a sole practitioner can be pretty isolating.” When she first suggested the idea, her former broker dismissed it as silly. But Angie didn’t let that deter her. A move to Keller Williams soon after changed everything. With her husband, J.D., joining her in 2012, together they officially launched The Angie Flack Brown Team. “Our broker embraced our vision and helped us build what we have today,” she says. Now, Angie’s team consists of Rachel McAloose, James Reyes, and Shelby Reyes, alongside J.D., who doubles as her husband and business partner. “We’re small, but we are mighty,” Angie proudly shares. “My name is on the sign, but believe me, each of us plays a big part in every transaction and relationship.” The team’s structure highlights the unique strengths each member brings. Angie says, “We have respect for one another, we share the bigger goal, and we encourage each other in not only the business, but in all areas of our lives.” J.D. plays a key role in running the business, leveraging his background in photography, graphic design, marketing, and sales. “People often ask us how we can work with our spouse and my answer is always the same: how could I NOT? He’s my best friend, I trust him more than anyone else, and he has skills that I don’t have!” Rachel McAloose, the team’s Director of Operations, keeps the wheels turning. “Rachel pretty much runs the show and the day-to-day operations,” Angie says. “She’s been with us for over six years and is a licensed agent herself. She helps us all with whatever we need—keeping our team calendar, the office running, and paperwork in order.” But Rachel’s most important role is being a mom to her 7-year-old son, Cash, who is a powerhouse on the football field. Her drive and passion for her work are fueled by her love for him. As a single mom, Rachel balances it all with an impressive energy that inspires everyone around her, both at work and in her personal life. James Reyes, a full-time agent and U.S. Army veteran, brings a wealth of expertise to the team, focusing primarily on working with buyers while also managing home listings. Married to Shelby Reyes, the couple is not only integral to the team but also to its family-centered ethos, juggling their successful careers while raising two daughters. “Our team is truly a family business and we love having all of the kids involved, too.” Angie shares. Angie’s own journey to real estate began humbly—as a hobby. “After J.D. and I bought our first house, I had a habit of looking at houses for sale all the time,” she recalls. “I just thought it would be a fun part-time job when I started.” Before earning her license in 2002, Angie’s work focused on customer service, a background that shaped her client-first approach. “I always loved my relationships with people and giving them the experience they deserved,” she says. J.D.’s background in marketing complemented Angie’s skills perfectly. Together, they’ve transformed what began as a fun endeavor into a thriving real estate operation. “Maybe a match made in real estate heaven?” she jokes.
Rooted in Rochester
Originally from Brighton, Angie has deep roots in the Rochester area. J.D., who grew up in Pittsford, shares her love for the community. Married since 1996, they’ve raised two sons, Jack and Lucas, who have grown up in the business and helped out over the years. Their family also includes two energetic Goldendoodles, Jesse and Scout. When they’re not working, Angie and J.D. love traveling. “The world is so big, and there is so much to see,” Angie says. While she dreams of possibly moving south or even abroad someday, for now, Rochester remains home. Her other passions include reading historical fiction, trying new restaurants, and indulging in the comforts of a nice hotel with “crispy white sheets.”
Community Impact
The Angie Flack Brown Team isn’t just about sales—they’re deeply committed to making a difference in their community. From organizing food drives to hosting a sock drive for the Open Door Mission that collected over 2,000 pairs, their efforts reflect a collective spirit of generosity. Angie further contributes by serving on the Board of Directors for the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors, currently wrapping up her first year of a threeyear term. Looking ahead, the team dreams of establishing a foundation to amplify their impact—potentially supporting veterans’ outreach or initiatives serving the homeless. Their dedication to giving back is as strong as their passion for real estate.
Mentorship and Advice
When Angie began her real estate career in 2002, she was fortunate to be guided by the “Three Marilyns.” Marilyn Shutte welcomed her to open houses, Marilyn Kessler patiently walked her through her first two transactions, and the legendary Marilyn Greenberg shared invaluable lessons—from writing contracts to showing homes. Today, Angie cherishes those early blessings by mentoring younger agents with her philosophy rooted in hard work and authenticity. ““There are no tricks,” she says. “It’s all about hard work and doing the right thing.” She also credits the leadership at her KW office, especially Chuck Hilbert, for encouraging her to build a team when others doubted her vision. Most importantly, Angie emphasizes that she and her husband, J.D., are true partners in every sense. “It’s not just about me,” she says. “I couldn’t do this without J.D., nor would I want to. Working with him is one of the biggest gifts in my life.” At its core, real estate for Angie is about relationships. “When someone buys a house, it’s usually due to a major life change,” she explains. “Sometimes it’s something great—a new job, a marriage, children. Other times, it’s something hard, like a divorce or the loss of a spouse. I am so honored to walk side by side with someone through the major changes in life and hopefully make these times a little easier.” With a strong foundation, collaborative spirit, and unwavering dedication to their clients, there’s no doubt that The Angie Flack Brown Team is poised for continued success. As Rachel, their Director of Operations, would say, “I wouldn’t do this real estate thing with anyone else,” and Angie knows they all agree. In real estate, as in life, that sense of unity makes all the difference.
